I
was out shopping for reading material for one of my best friends as he
was having some surgery and would be out of commission for a while. I
picked up the American Handgunner March/April 2008 edition.
I am
a sucker for a good gun magazine, but I have to admit that the articles
and lay out of the American Handgunner was very good. There are
articles dealing with blackpowder, Cowboy Action pistols, and .45 ACP
Thunder Ranch Defensive Revolvers. Just about something for everyone.
As
he was recovering, I poured through the magazine. The article on the
Thunder Ranch .45 revolver was well written, and had some great points.
As this is a .45 ACP they hit a home run with me, saying that this
wheel gun would be a great addition to any ones gun stable that has
1911’s already. The addition of the light rail and speed loading of the
moon clips places this revolver in the front running for a defensive
tool.
Some of the other articles included “Paint Yer Gun”. This
is not something you would see every day in some of the magazines, and
I found it very helpful on proper steps to add years to your favorite
gun.
One of the reasons that we bring this up is because we are
resource for the Concealed Carry Community and we want to help point
out some of the other resources that are out there.
I bought
his at Borders for $5.95 and was worth the read. Not only did it help
my friend and I pass the time while he was healing, it actually had
some good handgun and defensive information.
Happy Trails and keep the lead down range. Clark –Carryconcealed.net
