<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><img border="0" align="right" src="http://carryconcealed.net/images/shotshow2008b.jpg" />I
am setting at the table going thru the countless information on
materials and looking at the products I walked off the floor at this
years Shot Show.<span>  </span>WOW!!!<span>  </span>What an experience.<span>  </span>For
those of you who don’t know, the Shot Show is the blow out show that
will start the 08’ year for 3.7 million dollar industry.<span>  </span>Hunting, Shooting, Personal Safety, Law Enforcement and every gun manufacture there is, is in Vegas this weekend.<span>  </span>This Years show is being held at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Las Vegas</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Convention Center</st1:placetype></st1:place>.<span>  </span>The
Center has 9.5 million square feet of exhibition space to work with,
This years show has 1949 exhibitioners and has taken up over 755,000
square feet of exhibition space and believe me when I say it was all
used.<span>  </span><span> </span></span></p>
<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman','serif';"><span>            </span>This is my first year attending the show and I had no idea of the magnitude of this show.<span>  </span>There will be over 50,000 industry professionals
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span>from 75 countries attending the shot show this year.<span>  </span>This Show is not open to the public, it is a private show solely for industry personnel.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span><span>            </span></span><span>My day at the show started a little late due to the great security personnel at TSA (but that’s another story completely).<span>  </span>So I arrived at the show and contacted EBDPA an other of the carryconcealed team members that is here at the show.<span>  </span>He directed me to the Press room for check in.<span>  </span>I received my Media Badge and was ready to rock and roll.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span><span>           <img border="0" align="right" src="http://carryconcealed.net/images/erning.jpg" /> </span></span><span>I got on the main floor and started to mingle with the crowd.<span>  </span>I met many people from many different companies with many more products.<span>  </span>Great stuff, infact I came back to my hotel room with a lot of stuff, as stated earlier.<span>  </span>I met with EBDPA and VegasGeorge for a bite to eat.<span>  </span>Once we got a bite, we hit the floor again.<span>  </span>The show is completely hands on, touch and holding firearms was encouraged by every exhibitor I spoke with.<span>  </span>After
closing the day out, I tried to get a taxi back to my hotel, while many
others attended a dinner with a concert from Randy Travis.</span></p>

Conley, Carryconcealed.net Contributor. </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span> </span></p>
</span>All In all, the first day of the Shot Show was a hit.<span>  </span>The Show will be held until Tuesday February 5th.<span>  </span>So there is much more to see in the days to come.<span>  <br />

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial black;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><img width="182" height="137" border="0" align="right" style="width: 171px; height: 127px;" src="http://carryconcealed.net/images/craiggunnyc.jpg" />Wow…. that is about all I could say for two days after arriving at the SHOT Show 2008.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>Not only was this the 30th
Anniversary of the SHOT Show hosted by the National Sport Shooting
Foundation (NSSF), but it was the largest turnout of exhibitors and by
far the largest attendance in the history of the show.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  Pictured on the right is Craig Conley, Wes Truex and R. Lee Ermy</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><o:p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"> </span></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">This year’s show was hosted at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Las Vegas</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Convention Center</st1:placetype></st1:place> and they did a fabulous job.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>Their was so much to see that it could hardly be taken in during the short 4 days of the event. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><o:p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"> </span></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">Almost all of the gun manufacturers unveiled new models of firearms for us to behold and ogle.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>There was an abundance of hunting, outdoors, military and law enforcement related products and services. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><o:p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"> </span></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><img width="260" height="202" border="0" align="right" style="width: 164px; height: 108px;" src="http://carryconcealed.net/images/ruger.jpg" /></span></span>Some of the highlights for me were the new Ruger® ultralight LCP™ in .380.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>A new, tiny, concealed carry weapon from a great gun manufacturer.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>The only complaint I have is it is not on the <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">California</st1:place></st1:state> approved list so I can’t have one!<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">    </span>I hope to have one shipped out to our Contributor team for a product review in the near future. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><o:p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"> </span></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;"><img width="271" height="136" border="0" align="right" style="width: 276px; height: 120px;" src="http://carryconcealed.net/images/trueglow.jpg" /></span>Another standout for me was the new advanced C4 LED tactical lights from Streamlight.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>The new generation of LED lights are brighter and sport a longer battery life.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  </span>A variety of handheld and weapon mounted options are available. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">TruGlo® has also
introduced in their 2008 line a series of weapon sight options called
TFO™ that include both their acclaimed fiber optics and tritium
technology for a seamless transition in any lighting conditions. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><img border="0" align="left" src="http://carryconcealed.net/images/GregBlock.jpg" />CarryConcealed.net
was able to send four of our contributors to the show and over the next
few weeks, you will hear some more from our team about what we each got
out of the show.<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: times new roman;">  Pictured on the left is Greg Block, Carryconcealed.net Forum Moderator and Julie a NRA Instructor. </span>I
would like to thank ErnieH, Vegas George and CA CCW Instructor for
joining me and trying to uncover the nuggets of great new products on
the market that will benefit you, our loyal readers. </p>

They are a great company that is filling a large need in the CCW
community by manufacturing accessories for handguns to make them easier
to carry. Pictured is Jim's wife and son. Jim has years in the
businesses and their family are a real asset to the shooting community.
We will be giving away some of the Covert Carriers this year to our
readers. Click on thier picture to see our review on their products. </p>
